How can your credit be repaired?
Your credit score can easily be compared to the overall health of your body. If you take small steps on a regular basis, you may never need major operations to keep yourself healthy. If you pay your bills in full each month, you may never need credit consulting services, just like daily or weekly exercise will help keep your body healthy.
However, just like with your health, sometimes you’re unlucky, and expert intervention is recommended. As many as 79% of consumers have errors on their credit report that could negatively affect their credit rating.
It is possible to repair your credit yourself. In order to have errors removed, you simply need to alert the credit bureaus to the error in writing. The bureaus then contact your creditors for proof of their claims. If they cannot provide proof within 30 days, the bureau removes the error from your report. Sounds simple, right?
Unfortunately, there are many problems with this system. Your requests could be lost in the mail, creditors could request more information from you, and if you are not able to respond in time, you will have to reopen your request again. Creditors may also respond with “meaningless” emails in order to extend the time they have to research your request. Learning how to deal with these roadblocks and staying on top of the situation can be very stressful.
Possibly the easiest way to repair your credit is hire a reputable, credible, and experienced credit consulting company to help you understand your credit situation and make the right moves.
How long does it take to repair your credit?
How long it takes to repair your credit depends on the severity of your credit situation. Creditors are given 30 days to respond to inquiries, so even in the best case scenario, with just one error on your report at one bureau, it will still take at least 30 days to get a response.
Our customers typically sees results within 30 days of beginning our program. Because we have perfected the process of communicating with creditors and credit bureaus we can begin working on the errors on your report almost immediately. That is just one of the reasons why we are the top choice for
On average, our customers use our service for 7 months before letting us know that they are satisfied with the results and pausing work on their credit.
Does more money get me more credit repair?
While we do offer several levels of credit repair, our Platinum product does not offer more or less “repair” than our Plus product. The major difference is the severity of errors on your credit report and the time you have to repair them.
If your situation is particularly complicated, we recommend you choose Platinum so that a dedicated expert can help you decide what to do. On the other hand, if the errors on your report are not particularly bad, but you only have 60 or 90 days to get the best mortgage rate possible, we also recommend the Platinum product.
Not sure which product to choose? Opt for our free consultation and a credit expert will help you evaluate you situation. Our experts are not paid to “upsell” you, so you can be sure that the advice you get will be the best for your situation.
Is it possible for items removed from my credit report to reappear later?
Unfortunately, yes. Many errors are due to paperwork errors or “blending” of reports between two people with similar names. Although credit repair services can be effective in removing errors, if the paperwork or blending problems still exist on the creditor’s end, they may re-report the error, in which case you may have to go through the process again.
If you have an error that has been removed before, we can help you work with your creditors to get it removed, and to find the root problem that causes it to keep coming back.
Do I need to keep paying amounts I owe?
Yes! Except in very rare cases, it is essential that you keep paying your bills on time. Credit repair is only meant to remove inaccuracies and errors on your report, not to help you avoid legitimate debts.
If you truly believe there is an amount that you should not pay, discuss it with a credit expert during your free consultation and they can guide you on what to do.
Does credit repair service pay off my balances?
No! Credit repair is only meant to repair errors and inaccuracies on your credit report. If you are unable to pay your current bills, don’t enroll in credit repair services! Please see our list of recommended debt settlement agencies.
Will my credit be restored if I just pay my bills?
In most cases, no. Errors on your credit report generally result in problems that won’t go away just by paying your bills.
However, you should continue to pay your bills on time before, during and after enrolling in credit repair. Paying your bills every month is the best way to ensure that your credit stays healthy.
Do I need to have a credit report already to get started?
Not at all. When you sign up for our monthly service we will give you a free TransUnion credit report. We can also assist you in obtaining free reports from all three major bureaus and helping you get updates each month.
Is credit repair consulting guaranteed?
It is against the law for any credit repair agency to guarantee results. However, we do guarantee that work will be done every month on your behalf with the goal of improving your situation.

How does Credit Raisin work with my creditors to improve my credit?
Is your credit situation complex, or do you have a fast approaching deadline (mortgage closing or business loan application)? Our Premium service gives you the added benefit of credit counselors working with your creditors to remove errors from your report.
Over the past decade, we have found the most efficient channels and methods to communicate with creditors to help you tackle your credit issues at the source. We will work on your behalf to keep creditors from reporting inaccurate information, and get them to proactively fix the errors which contribute to a poor credit score.
Can Credit Raisin help me negotiate with collections accounts?
To a certain extent, yes. Collections agencies typically want to speak with the person responsible for a debt, and no one else. However, we can advise you on your rights regarding collections agencies, and how to deal with the phone calls.
Did you know that settling legitimate debts can sometimes hurt your credit score? Although many debt collections agencies are willing to listen to a motivated consumer and settle for less than the amount owed, the act of paying that debt can cause automated systems to report inaccurate information that can decrease your score.
If you have debt that is currently in collections, contact us for a free consultation on the best way to handle your debt.
